Professional Editorial Services

Here you’ll find our editorial services conveniently organized under various categories. Learn what’s included in each service. Then determine which services will help you create the book you’ve dreamed about.

Editing ensures your book will make a good first impression; otherwise, it may not get your reader’s attention. We offer three types of editing: structural and developmental editing (whole-book assessment), line editing and copy editing (grammar, syntax, language usage), and proofreading (final check of the finished book before going to press).

If you have questions, contact us or visit our Learning Center to learn more about the publishing process.

A Manuscript Assessment guides your work toward the successful publication of your book.

It’s an invaluable tool to help you make considered decisions about how to proceed with your manuscript. This Assessment is the first step in the publishing process—before you begin any rounds of edits—and informs you for every step afterward.

Our senior editor will:

• Write an evaluation of your manuscript including:

• A summary of structural and editorial solutions for the manuscript.

• Comments on how the manuscript can be grammatically improved.

• A suggested editing level to address the developmental and grammatical concerns outlined.

• Edit your first chapter, or about 1,500 words, for you to see the kind of work your manuscript would benefit from.

* This price is valid for manuscripts up to 80,000 words. If your manuscript exceeds this word count, contact us for a personalized quote.

Our senior editor will not:

• Correct errors in sentence structure, language, spelling, grammar, punctuation, and syntax, or alter word choices.

• Correct errors in facts, or note where approval from a third party may be required.

Indexes provide a clear roadmap for your readers and give the book added value. Indexes are faster and more successful than text searchers for both simple and complex searches. You would probably prefer to save time and frustration when looking for information; your reader will as well.

*Price is based on 250-word pages with 6-8 simple two-tier topical index entries per page. We’ll provide a quote for other types of indexes. Contact us.

After your book is typeset, it’s time for a final review for errors, typos, line breaks, and hyphenations. You can do this proofreading yourself, but experience proves that most authors miss their mistakes. A new set of eyes will make sure your book is finished to industry standards.

To make changes to print books (pBooks) or eBooks after production has begun is very costly.

This is the time to ensure your book is ready for press.
